CNAC WALL, café and bar, will be opened in CNAC and Mr. Patrick Blanc, the famous French contemporary artist, is going to install two fantastic green walls inside and outside of the bar.

CNAC will open its café and bar space CNAC WALL on 1 September 2011. The commission work installed on the walls inside and outside of CNAC WALL is created by Mr. Patrick Blanc, French contemporary artist and botanist. The wall outside the bar is 12 meter wide and 3 meter high. Together with the green wall inside the bar counter, this is his largest work in Japan. The natural green wall, frequently called “vertical garden”, is composed of a metal frame, a PVC layer and polyamide felt and various complicated plantings are done on the vertical wall.

His first commission work in Japan was “Green Bridge” installed in 21st Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, in 2004. He conducted commission works at Fondation Cartier pour l’Art Contemporain (Paris) in 1998, Musée du quai Branly (Paris) in 2006, Caixa Forum (Madrid) in 2007, etc. in association with talented architects all over the world.

The counter bar and the terrace outside the bar are in harmony with the Patrick’s commission work. This edgy bar space offers the top quality champagnes and wines as well.

The most recent news of CNAC WALL will be provided on this site.
